Birds
These pictures are inspired by African birds, which I photographed during my travels. In addition, I paint some of these images on sacks that have been transporting bulk commodities such as rice, flour or sugar around the globe, to supply the people of Africa with cheap products. Birds especially migratory birds seemed to me a poetic metaphor for these strange streams that symbolize the sacks ….
